Hi, I am Kayla Vaughters

I'm a self-taught photographer in Charleston, SC. I decided to pursue my passion when my children became school age and the need for me to be a stay-at-home mom lessened. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education but decided against going back into the classroom so that I could still have a flexible schedule for my boys. Being a mom has taught me that moments are fleeting. They pass by within a blink of an eye. I don't think I truly understood that until I watched my little ones grow. Those gummy smiles turned into big, toothy grins. The sweet fat rolls that my sweet baby boy had, quickly faded as he turned into a toddler with ample energy. Now, my oldest is missing his two front teeth. And I know that soon, he'll have his adult teeth in place. There will be no more singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" as we brush his teeth. One day, he won't need any help brushing his teeth at all. Ok, I'll stop there (i.e. - I need a moment to go grab a tissue!). Moments are fleeting and we remember them best when we look at a photograph.
