Sometimes It's Not So Easy ...
When I was expecting my first baby, I recall talking to a mom friend and telling her that I was worried that I might encounter issues with breastfeeding. She assured me that it's biological and it comes naturally, there's nothing to worry about. Surely, she was just trying to ease my worries, but breastfeeding CAN be difficult, and it doesn't make you a "bad" mom and you're NOT failing. My first son and I struggled in the hospital to get it down and then we could only nurse while I laid on my side. It was hard. My second had a tongue tie that interfered with nursing. It was hard. There are amazing benefits to nursing your little one, but it comes with its own challenges. Nursing isn't the only way to feed your little one either! Formula is AMAZING and shouldn't be looked down upon. Fed is best. But, if you're nursing and need a bit of encouragement or help, I'm complied a list a Lactation Consultants in the Charleston area. The list will hopefully grow to come back if or when you need to!
